Abstract

2378. Rudman, T. I. Feb. 7. Rails, securing to sleepers. - Relates to means for attaching anchors to existing tramway rails in such wise as to permit of convenient removal and replacement of the rails without disturbing the anchors or breaking up the concrete in which they are embedded. The anchor is composed of a bar A of H-section having its top flange a' slotted at a<2>, a<3> on opposite sides of the rail, and two locking- plates C, D having their lower ends bent to engage the slots a<2>, a<3> while their upper parts embrace the flange and web of the rail. The locking-plates are secured together by a bolt E, which also draws the anchor up to the rail without the intervention of washers, packing pieces, or like material.
