Abstract
950. Wilks, L. S. Jan. 17. Switches. - Bell pushes, door knobs and handles, &c. are so formed as to permit the passage of light from one side of the door to the other, so as to facilitate finding them in the dark. Fig. 3 shows an electric - bell push in which the hole j<1> in the door a is closed at one end by a glass disk or lens k. The other side of the door carries a ring d supporting two springs h, h<1> which, besides forming the contacts of the switch, also keep the push e in its outer position. The ring d is screw-threaded at c to receive the outer casing b. The front of the push is closed by a glass disk or lens g.
