Abstract

28,768. Holtzmann, P. Dec. 29. Pump valves; valve seats.-Consists in a removable valve seat designed to facilitate the renewal or re-facing of the seats of valve plates fitted with a number of valve openings. The metal seat D is provided with ports d registering with the ports in the valve plate A, and is held in position by the shoulder c<1> of the valve-stem C, a washer E being inserted between the seat and plate to make a tight joint. In order to register the ports of the valve seat and valve plate, holes a<1>, d' are provided, within which dowels c<2> are fitted. The valve consists of a disc B of rubber or other flexible material, which is held in contact with the seat by a spring c. The threaded portion of the stem C is straight, instead of being tapered, as usual.
