Abstract
27,747. Soc. Nouvelle des Etablissements Decauville a¯nÚ. May 7, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Gas or explosive-vapour engines, carburetting in. The carburetter shown in Fig. 1, for maintaining a mixture of constant strength at varying speeds, is provided with a water-jacketect conical mixing-chamber b, in which moves vertically a suction-operated conical float c for regulating the air passage. Air, heated by passing in contact with hollow webs k through which the cooling-water is led, enters the conical base of the carburetter at i, the hydrocarbons being admitted through inclined ports. The conical float c is guided at its ends by spindles and controlled by the spring h. A second compensating-spring may, if desired, be used in connection with the float. A modification is described in which the float is operated mechanically by an external arm connected to a convenient part of the motor.
