The distributing-valve i is mounted in the piston, to which the steam is admitted by a pipe p. A stop o on the pipe arrests the valve and effects the control of the ports h, l. An annular port b in the cylinder leads to the exhaust port c. The piston is, preferably, made in three parts as shown.
