20,249. Leob, M. L., and Barnes, H. Sept. 20. Teeth, artificial.-A bridge for artificial teeth is constructed of metal backing-plates to which porcelain facings are attached. The backing-plates are constructed with dovetail projections F, Fig. 5, and the lower edge is turned outwards to support and protect the incisive edge of the tooth facing. The facing c, Fig. 6, has a dovetail groove G, corresponding to the projection on the backing- plate, and is bevelled at each end. The facing is placed in position from the top of the backing, cement or gutta-percha being used to unite the two surfaces. For molar teeth, the backing is not continued beyond the groove, since the lower edge of the tooth does not require protection.
