Dusting-appliances; carpets, cleaning cleaning fabrics, upholstery, &c.-Apparatus for extracting dust and dirt from carpets, fabrics, upholstery, &c. consists of an extracting-implement E, a steam-jet ejector B, and a flexible connecting pipe D. A cyclone or other separator C may be provided. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the implement E has a tubular handle, a depending mouth, and a ball castor L. Fig. 2 shows the preferred form of ejector, the steam being supplied through the nozzle S<1>. According to the Provisional Specification, the apparatus is adapted for use in buildings and in railway and other vehicles; any form of air-exhauster is used, though a fan, air ejector, or equivalent valveless device is preferred, and the exhauster is driven by an electromotor, or a water motor in connection with the ordinary water supply.
