Abstract
10,728. Moore, G. May 10. Castors.-Relates particularly to means for attach. ing the horn piece of a castor to the pivot pin. The horn-piece socket 8, Fig. 1, is made of considerable depth, is countersunk at the lower end, and at the upper end has a concave recess 12, in which bears a similarly-shaped bulbous projection 11 at the root of the pivot pin 9. This pin may either form part of a screw, plate, or socket, for securing to the furniture, or be formed on a pin cast into the leg of the furniture. The lower end of the pin 9 is provided with a flexible head 14, over which the socket 8 may be forced, but, when in position, is prevented by the enlarged head from being readily removed. This head may be produced by forming a saw-cut 13 in the head and separating the parts, by flattening or hollowing the end of the pin, Fig. 2, or by other means.
