8932. Gwathmey, C. B. April 19. Children's mail carts.-In a folding carriage for infants, Fig. 1, a foot-rest 3 and front axle 4 are carried by extensions 2 hinged to the underside of the seat 1. A staple under the seat is held, by a spring 11, in engagement with notches in a bar 6, an eye 7 in which encircles the axle 4. Extensions 13 hinged to the rear axle 12 are held in place by pivoted catches 16. At each side of the vehicle, a rod 18 moving in an eye-clip 17 carries the arm 19. A notched clip 20 on the arm engages with a catch 21 pivoted at the back 22, which, hinged to the rear of the seat, is fitted with extension handles 23 held by catches 24. A strap 25 serves to hold the child when the cart is in use, and to secure the different parts when folded. In folding, the bar 6 is disengaged from the staple and pushed forwards ; the foot-rest and front wheels are extended and held in place by the outer notch in the bar 6 engaging the staple. The extensions 13 are turned outwards and engaged by the catches 16, the arms 19 and back 22 being turned upward and locked together by catches 21, and the extensions 23 are fixed in place, as in Fig. 3.
