Bedsteads; mattresses.-A spring or box mattress is provided at each corner with a member 5 having tapered hooks 6 for engagement on a pin 4 in the bedstead post 3, and the side-bars of the bedstead are dispensed with. The member 5, Figs. 2 and 5, is provided with a portion 7 for attachment by screws and bolts to a wooden mattress frame 2. The member 5, Fig. 4, forms a socket 14 for a tubular metal frame 2. The lower side of the member 5 may rest on a collar or shoulder 10, Fig. 5, on the post 3. An ornamental sleeve may be slipped over the fastening. A supplementary double-hooked clasp 11, Fig. 5, may engage pins or projections 13 on the member 5.
