Abstract

26,149. Horteloup, G. P. Dec. 9, A.D. 1902, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Materials, fibrous; raw materials, treating.- Green furze, known in France as ajonc, lande, jomarin, and jan, is chopped fine, mixed with a lye of caustic soda, and subjected to heat and pressure in a digester. The material is then washed in water containing sulphuric acid, bleached with chloride of lime, and finally washed in water. This pulp may be used alone, or mixed with other pulp.
