18,435. Soda Stream, Ltd., and Hucks, W. Aug. 26. Aerating liquids.-Small quantities of liquids such as water, wine, beer, &c., contained in bottles or other vessels, are aerated by means of compressed gas drawn directly from containers or cylinders. The mouth of the bottle &c. is held in a suitable socket, or, as shown in Fig. 1, a screwstoppered bottle 8 is screwed upon a plug 3 and bears against a washer 4. When the pressure produced by the gas supplied through the pipe 7 reaches a certain amount, the valve 10 is lifted, and the gas bubbles through and agitates the liquid. The casing 11, for protecting the operator in case of accident, turns on a centre at 12 and carries a cross-bar 13, which bears upon the top of the spring 14 and has its downward movement limited by the top of the casting. Pressure may be applied to the valve without the use of the spring. The Provisional Specification describes also the arrangement of several aÙrating-appliances in line so that the gas which escapes from the first bottle is led into the second and so on, valves being provided so that any bottle can be removed without removing the others.
