Making steam generators.-The divided headers of water - tube boilers with close-ended tubes containing concentric circulation tubes are constructed of channeliron beams of H-section, by welding flat or curved plates across the open sides. The web of the bar constitutes the division plate between the two compartments of the header. Figs. 3<a>, 3<b>, and 3<c> show cross-sections of a header in successive stages of manufacture.
