Abstract

17,654. Mann, G. R., Hiatt, E. J., and Denver, M. R. Aug. 12. Toy pistols tops.-A toy pistol, which may be used for spinning a top and firing a cap, is preferably made in two halves A, B<1>, chambered out to receive the parts. The hammer C is pivoted at c, and has an arm c' engaged and operated by the bow spring D. When the hammer is cocked, a tooth c' thereon is engaged by the trigger E. The hammer is connected by a rod G<1> to a slide G, sliding in one side of the casing. The slide has a facing g of rubber or frictional material. Opposite the slide G is a spring-pressed plate H having a short facing h of frictional material. The pressure of the spring H<1> on the plate H may be regulated by a screw. The stem of the top is inserted, through a slot, between the frictional faces g, h, and, the hammer C being then released, the stem of the top is rolled between the faces g, h, until it clears the latter and falls out by gravity.
