(AREA)
Abstract
12,350. Shiner, A. E. May 31. Inking-apparatus.-Relates to geared inking- apparatus more particularly applicable for reciprocating-bed machines. The inking- rollers a are preferably adjustable by screws c, and the distributing-roller e is geared by wheels l, n to a rack m on the bed. The shaft of the roller e is screwed or provided with a screwed sleeve at one or both ends e', and this engages female screw-threads in the bearings o. The bearings o are mounted in brackets g, and are held in place by arms p fixed on screws in the brackets g, by nuts q. The arms p engage recesses in the upper bearing-blocks o, and, by slacking the nuts q and slightly raising the arms, the arms may be turned to one side for removal of the roller e. A hole r is made in the arm p for the introduction of lubricant to the bearing.
