A splint a, adapted to be placed under the limb, is connected by straps b to saddle pieces d embracing the upper part of the limb, which is thus held rigid. Sliding blocks g with detachable ends j work on the saddle-pieces, and can be adjusted by screws h, so as to keep the parts of the patella in position. In a modification, transverse sliding blocks adjustable by screws are arranged between the ends j. A thin metal cover fitted with a lock may be arranged to cover the splints, so as to prevent the adjustments from being tampered with.
