Abstract

Water circulation, promoting; water, indicating presence of impurities in.-A centrifugal pump or the like is fitted in the circulation passages of a boiler, as shown at E, Fig, 1, and J, Fig. 3. The decreased speed of the pump, due to increased resistance, may be used as a means of indicating the presence of such a quantity of solid deposit in the water as to necessitate the blowing-out of the boiler, the driving-power of the pump being maintained constant.
