Abstract

4868. Bleakley, W. Feb. 26. Toys, driving-mechanism for ; toy vehicles.-Relates to running-gear for toy vehicles in which momentum is obtained by means of a heavy disc or flywheel. In slots 2, 3 in a frame 1 are placed two shafts 4, 5 carrying pairs of loosely-running wheels 6, 7, which are retained in position by a removable spring frame 11 threaded over the ends of the frame 1 and under the shafts. Between the wheels 6, 7 and resting upon them is a shaft 8, which is retained in position by overhanging brackets 10 on the frame 1, and carries a heavy flywheel 9. The shaft 8 is kept down upon the wheels 6, 7 by a pair of discs 12 mounted on studs 13 on the frame. The flywheel is put in motion by repeatedly running the apparatus forwards on the ground. Holes are provided in the frame for screws for connecting it with toy vehicles. On withdrawing the spring frame 11, the apparatus may be taken to pieces.
