Coated fabrics.-Relates to means for joining the seams of waterproof garments or covers or like goods as for example in attaching the collar to the neck or gorge, and the flaps to the body of the garment at the pocket mouths, so as to render them waterproof without requiring to use seam strapping or taping. Several modified arrangements are described in all of which the rubber proofing of one portion of the seam is cemented or solutioned to that of the other portion in order to cover and protect the stitching. The material from which these garments is usually made is of double texture. Fig. 1 is a front view and Fig. 2 an edge view of one arrangement, A, B being the two pieces to be joined together. The outer layer a, b of the cloth or fabric is stripped to the requisite width from the edge of each of the pieces A, B, where the seam is to be made. These two unproofed edges a, b are then joined together, as shown, and then one d of the proofed inside layers of cloth is stuck down upon the edges a, b so as to cover them, and the seam is completed by sticking down the other inner layer e of proofed cloth upon the piece d as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 2.
