22,891. Drake, J. A. Nov. 13. Gas-producer furnaces.-Consists in the application of means for supplying forced draught at will, either to the primary or secondary air inlets, or to both. Figs. 1 and 2 show, in sectional elevation and plan, respectively, a regenerative gasproducer furnace for heating gas retorts. Air is supplied under pressure by the fan b to the air inlets m, n of the gas-producer a, and to the air inlets k, l of the regenerators, valves being fitted to allow the supply to each inlet to be regulated. Injectors may be used instead of fans, and the invention may be applied to furnaces for other purposes, and to kilns.
