Abstract
22,796. Jackson, I. Nov. 12. Linings for rotary kilns. Ground flints, with or without a suitable "aggregate," are made into a plastic mass with sodium silicate, preferably in the form of water-glass solution. The material thus formed is applied in a plastic state to the interior of the kiln, or used as a cement for a brick or tile lining. Various silicates, litharge, lime, magnesia, and portland cement are mentioned as suitable " aggregates." The application to cement kilns is mentioned.
