Linings.-An improved refractory lining or facing-material for kilns and furnaces consists of cement-beton obtained by mixing granular Portland cement clinkers with ground Portland cement. The kiln is lined by stamping the moistened material down, smoothing-boards being used if necessary. The material is applicable for lining rotary cement kilns, lime kilns, smelting and reducing furnaces, china-baking kilns, &c.
