Bricks; pottery.-In order to make use of clay containing lime or limestone, in nodules or otherwise, for the manufacture of bricks, pipes, terracotta, &c., it is passed through crushing-rollers and mixed with a small quantity of coal or coke dust. The moulded articles are burnt in a kiln or furnace at a temperature sufficient to make the lime flux with the clay.
