12,951. BÚlanger, V. June 25. Spindle apparatus. - The spindle 19 and its bolster 18 are not concentric with one another, so that, on rotating the bolster, the spindle and its driving- wharve 20 are moved horizontally, either towards a friction driving-wheel 21, or away from the driving-drum when a driving-band or tape is used. The lower end of the bolster screws loosely on to a pin 17 projecting upwards from a block 14, which is prevented from rotating in the bottom of the bolster case 11, and the block and bolster are connected by a spiral spring 24, which tends to turn the bolster in such a manner as to increase the friction between the wharve 20 and frictionwheel 21, or between the wharve and driving-band, as the case may be.
