1374. Hahn, P. Jan. 21. Drying fabrics.- Appliances for drying mercerized textile fabrics by pressure are shown in Figs. 1 and 3. To allow fabrics of different widths to be readily treated, the drying- rollers c, d, Fig. 1, between which the stretched fabric is passed, are formed of discs c<1>. The discs are made in halves, bolted together, and slide on feathers on the shafts f, g. In the modification shown in plan in Fig. 3, overlapping rollers l, m are arranged side by side on parallel shafts q. The rollers are adjusted on the shafts with more or less overlap according to the width of the fabric.
