Abstract

Pressure gauges.-A flexible chamber A similar to that of an aneroid barometer moves a tracer D over a drum B, which is rotated by clockwork and ascends or descends on a coarse-pitched screw F. The tracing-hand d<1>, pivoted to the free end of the arm d over the sensitive chamber a, is gently pressed towards the record drum by means of a spring finger d<2> with a roller d<3> bearing against the casing C. The clockwork train ends in a wheel which can be put into or out of gear with a long pinion g, which is always in gear with a wheel E at the bottom of the record drum. This wheel is loose upon the screw pillar F, but has attached to it a sleeve e which encloses the thread when the drum is in its lower position. One or more radial sockets e<1> at the bottom of this sleeve hold rollers e<2> on ball bearings, which engage the thread. Two adjustable clips e<3> fixed to the projecting rim e<4> of the wheel E partly brake the wheel, and prevent it from acting upon the clock movement.
