Abstract

6916. Goodson, J. April 12. Regulators.-Relates to regulators attached to burners, and of the kind described in Specifications No. 24,293, A.D. 1898, and No. 9504, A.D. 1899. The gas entering through the socket b passes through passages o, n in the plug cock l. One or more of the passages o lead the gas to a space c above the floating diaphragm d. The gas then passes by the openings p, tube e, chamber q, and openings h to the outlet. The other passage n leads to a space below the diaphragm. As the diaphragm rises, the upper opening of the tube e is throttled by the recess r in the cap. By this device, the governor still acts when the flame is turned down by means of the plug tap. Modifications are described and illustrated for use in cases where the gas passes downwards through the governor, and also where it enters and leaves through horizontal passages
