4938. Baillie, J. L. March 15. Gas turbines.-A vane-wheel is propelled by jets of heated products of combustion issuing from nozzles 26 on each side of it. The waste gases escape through the pipe 63, and the fresh gases are supplied from a furnace G supplied with air by a pump E, and oil or gas by a pump F and reservoir 45. The wheel is surrounded by a jacket communicating with a water tank 14, and it may have two rings of jets pointing in opposite directions so that the motor may run either way.
