Abstract
4453. Robins, J. J. March 8. Metal pipes and tubes; spigot-and-socket joints.- Relates to pipes for drainage and other purposes which are built up of two or more metal or other sections in such away as to facilitate the junction of pipe lengths. The flanges B are secured by bolting and riveting, and are formed to the socket C at one end, and at the other end to the flared-out part D. The joint is made tight by caulking. The recess E is made to receive the flange B at the spigot end of the adjacent pipe length.
