Abstract

3234. Fraser, J., Fraser, J. G., and Walker, H. Feb. 19. Stop-motions; delivery, stopping.- When the rove R breaks, the eye a', through which it passes to the retaining rollers, is moved sideways so as to cause the rove to pass from between the rollers c, d, and simultaneously that part of the rove which has already passed the retaining - rollers is held by heckle pins l. The eye a<1> is formed on a lever a, which is pivoted at b<1>, is weighted or actuated by a spring, and is normally held in the position shown by the upper end of a rod f, which is connected with the detector lever h. This lever also carries the heckle pins l. During the time that the parts are being re-set in their working position, the rod f is held up by the end of a spring f<4> which engages with a projecting stud e. Three modifications are described. In two of these, the tumbling lever is fitted behind the retaining-rollers, and in the third between them. Two of these modifications also involve the motion of the detector lever h sideways, instead of in a vertical plane.
