Abstract

25,606. Pearce, W. T. Dec. 28. Cooking-sloves.-The burner chamber A, for gas, oil, or solid fuel, opens into a fan-shaped tapering recess D, in a water boiler C and leading into the oven B. A flame and heat deflector L is provided. The gaseous products pass away by flues. The boiler is provided with a conical funnel dipping into the water and serving as an indicator of the water level, a cross-wire showing the normal level. On the top of the boiler are a number of openings surrounded by circular double flanges F, the annular space between each pair forming a seal in which dips the end of a detachable pipe G. The pipe G carries away the steam to a steam cooking-apparatus, such as H, a second similar seal P beiug provided between the cooker and the pipe. These seals soon become closed with water condensed out of the steam. A hot plate J, heated from the chamber A, is provided for boiling-utensils.
