Abstract

The primary circuit of an induction coil is closed by a cam b acting on a spring d and pressing the contacts e and f together, while the secondary circuit is closed at the same time by a rotating arm h engaging the contact m<1> and a ring s attached to the terminal t, The cam b and the arm h are both fixed to the shaft a, and the ring and contacts m<1> are fixed on the inner surface of a case k of insulating-material which, with the primary contact-maker d, may be adjusted about the shaft by a lever p. The apparatus is arranged to complete the circuits twice for each revolution, in order to ignite in two cylinders.
