21,160. Boult, A. J., [Krausse, C.]. Oct. 23. Refrigerators; refrigerating; cooling water.- A bottle of liquid carbonic acid is connected to pipes coiled or otherwise arranged in a refrigerator. The gas expands in these pipes, and is then led into a water tank f through which it bubbles, cooling the water, and finally escapes through a pipe h, which acts as a trap to catch any water carried by the gas. The cooled water is used for drinking &c. A cock k on the gas pipes allows the refrigerator to be filled with the gas.
