Abstract
17,841. Bush, W. C. Sept. 4. Harvesting-machines. - Relates to means for securing the knife sections to the knife-bar. Fig. 3 shows the various parts in perspective separated from each other. The knife-bar A is provided with pins L, L fitting into corresponding holes in the knife section B. Circular holes C and D with radial extensions G and H are made in the bar A and section B respectively so as to register with each other. A pin E with projections J, J fits into the holes C and D, and, when given a quarter turn locks the bar A and section B together. A spring washer M is inserted in a recess on the underside of the bar A in which the projections J, J turn, and tends to keep the section B firmly in position. An arm F on the head of the pin E is fitted with a spring catch N which engages a recess P formed in the adjacent section. The arms F, when all the sections are locked in position, form a continuous row. The Specification describes modifications in the position and arrangement of the locking-device.
