Abstract
13,943. Mitchell, W. A. July 6. Buoys.-Relates to means for raising sunken vessels, applicable also as life-rafts when carried on board ship. The apparatus consists of a collapsable rectangular water-tight case a of wood, metal, or the like, of which the sides and ends b are connected together by dovetail joints, and are surrounded by chains. The chains and joints are arranged to allow of the parts being easily disconnected. The ends have strengthening-ribs b<1>, and filling and emptying valves c, d may be provided.
