Abstract

5571. Christiansen, H., and Krone, J. H. March 14. Brick and building-blocks, porous and cellular. Relates to the manufacture of a porous material for the construction of walls &c. The volume of the interstices in a mass of clean grained gravel or hard stone having particles of from two to five millimetres in diameter is ascertained by filling them up with water, which is afterwards drawn off. Cement is now added in smaller amount than the volume so measured, the resulting concreted mass being necessarily of a porous nature when dry.
