Abstract

20,353. Voigt, H. J. F., and Haeffner, J. A. Sept. 26. Switches for secondary batteries. The contactstrips C are arranged on a cylindrical casing A, and are clamped by insulated rings B, B'. They preferably pass through the base, or switchboard, for the attachment of the cell connections. On the rings B, B' slide or rotate rings F, each of which carries one or two contacts E formed with a carbon or metal block pressed against the contacts C by a spring. One of the rings may be connected to the lamp circuit, and the other to one pole of the generator. The contacts C are connected through resistances to prevent short-circuiting.
