19,445. Blumenberg, H. Sept. 13. Primary batteries; secondary batteries.-Consists in the use of a solution of ter-sulphate of aluminium as an electrolyte in batteries. In primary batteries, the electrolyte is preferably used with a zinc electrode and a carbon or lead electrode surrounded with lead peroxide or other metallic peroxide. A sulphate of the metals of the alkalies or of the alkaline earths may be mixed with the aluminium ter-sulphate. In secondary batteries, the electrolyte is a solution of ter-sulphate of aluminium, mixed with the bisulphate of potassium, sodium, or ammonium.
