Yarns, warping, beaming, and leasing.-The speed of the swift on the shaft S is regulated by change gearing H, J between the driving-shaft A and a shaft K carrying a sliding pinion L to engage with the spur-wheel M on the shaft S. A sliding spur-wheel D on the shaft A drives the beaming- shafts G, B<1> through gearing E, F, G<1>, A'. The swift and beaming shafts are operated alternately by shifting the pinion L and wheel D on their shafts by arms L<1>, D<1> on a screw shaft N. The wheel M operates, through gearing 0, Q, T and shaft U, an eccentric V, which, by means of a connecting-rod W and ratchet-gearing W<1>, causes the warp beam to traverse as usual. The operating-screw 3 of the section carriage 4 is driven by worm gearing 2, 1 and bevel gearing Y, X from the shaft U. For forming the lease the ends are passed between bars 12 and through a leaded reed 5, which are mounted on arms 6 pivoted to a curved plate 7 on an arm 8 attached to the section carriage; the two halves of the lease are obtained by oscillating the arms 6 in opposite directions.
