Tyres, pneumatic.-Punctures or leakages in pneumatic tyres and in chambers, vessels, and other apparatus are detected by means of the apparatus shown. Within a chamber a, having an inlet b for attachment to a pump or other apparatus and an outlet c for attachment to the apparatus to be tested, is placed ammonia or other suitable substance which will give off gases or fumes. The leakages are located by the issuing fumes or gases, of which the presence is detected by suitable reagents or by sight.
