12,661. Jaehn, A. June 6. Printing fabrics.-The fabric to be printed is laid upon a supporting-cloth B which is stretched between the side frames A. The printing-roller F and colour supply G are mounted in a carriage E having movable transversely in a frame or carriage D rollers b running on the side frames A. In the carriage D is a shaft a having wheels e gearing with racks on the frame, and an operating- handle o. The colour apparatus consists of a colour band G running in the colour trough K and against the printing-roller F upon rollers H, J, &c. The printing-roller F and colour rollers are driven by gearing from the shaft a. Under the cloth B and printing-roller F is an impression roller L mounted in a carriage E' movable transversely in a carriage D' having rollers b<1> running on the rails A<1>. The carriage D' is driven so as to move with the carriage D by chains l fixed to the carriage D and engaging sprocket-wheels on the shaft a' in the carriage D'. On the shaft a' are spur-wheels e<1> gearing with racks d<1> on the rails A'. The carriages E, E<1> are adjustable transversely of the machine by means of screws h, h'. A heating- arrangement may be placed under the carrying- cloth B. A machine is described in which the carriages are provided with two sets of printing- apparatus ; and another machine is described in which the printing-apparatus is stationary and the cloth B is mounted on rollers so as to be movable with the fabric between the printing and pressing rollers.
