Several forms of the invention are shown in the Specification, of which that shown iu Fig. 6 is given by way of example. In this the split rings B, C, D are placed in the spherically-seated cup A and are pressed home by springs acting on the follower L. The whole is encased in a cover N. The essential feature in all the arrangements is the double conical formation of the inner surface of the cup containing the packing-rings.
