Abstract

3272. Pimbley, J. Feb. 9. Rotary disc valves.-A circular disc valve L, having an opening W equal in diameter to the fluid way of the valve, is situated within a valve casing made in halves secured together by bolts E, and is actuated by a worm 0 on the spindle J engaging with teeth M on its periphery. When the valve is closed, it is tightly pressed against its seat by projections T, the inclined surfaces of which engage with those of similar projections from the casing. H is a stuffing-box for the spindle. This valve may be used with gas. steam, water, &c., the discharge of which therethrough can be regulated to a nicety.
