Abstract
1540. Maiche, L. Jan. 19. Superheaters, steam.-Consists in the employment of highly-heated water for heating the steam. According to the Provisional Specification, oil also may be used. In the arrangement shown, water is heated in a coil F by a separate furnace, and is circulated through the tubular heater A, which is of ordinary construction. E is an expansion box through which the water passes. The steam passes through the tubes of the heater, which are preferably filled with smaller tubes or ducts of good conducting metal closely clustered together. The heating-coil may be placed in the chimney or flue of the main boiler instead of in a separate furnace.
