555. Platt, A. Jan. 8. Vapour burners.-Relates to a burner for the purposes of soldering or brazing, or, in a modified form, for removing paint. A tube A with air-holes I is connected to a lamp or vapour burner by a set-screw H. For soldering, a hollow copper bit B, such as is shown in Fig. 1, is fixed in the mouth of the tube by means of a bolt C, and the flame passes into and around it. For brazing and the like the bit B is made with a flattened opening J as shown in Fig. 2.
