Abstract

29,926. Till, T., and Rowley, S. H. Dec. 17. Spring wheels; axle-boxes; dust excluders; hubs. -A spring wheel is shown in sectional elevation in Fig. 1. The fixed axle A is encircled by an axlebox C having radial arms D, the outer ends of which protrude through apertures in the hub F. These apertures are formed between two parts composing the hub, which are connected by means of lugs f and screw bolts g, and the screw bolts are connected to the outer ends of the arms D by springs E and adjusting-nuts h<1>. The spokes G are secured to hub flanges on each side of the springs, and the ends of the hub and the springs may have dust-excluding casings.
