In making the tool the piece cut out to form the open head a' and slot in the part a is utilized in forming the part b, b<1>. The stem b is threaded, and engages with an adjusting-nut c projecting through openings in the side plates e riveted to the part a. A second jaw d may be attached to the stem b and a corresponding jaw e' formed by the ends of the plates e and an intermediate piece.
