One edge C' of the cover C is provided with headed pins n which take into keyhole or similar slots b in the other edge C'. Some of the pins are longer than the others, and these longer ones project and engage with keyhole slots d in the rim R, thus securing the tyre to the rim. Some of the pins may project through the rim and be secured by nuts. The edges C<1>, C<2> of the cover may be strengthened by thin metal strips S', S' to which the pins may be attached. Inflation of the air tube T binds the various parts together.
