Tyres, pneumatic; felloes or rims.-To prevent the tread portion of a tyre from being deformed, the metal or other rigid rim G, of any suitable cross - section with sharply-sloped edges, is secured to the cover D, which has flanges E to engage with the rim flanges B fastened by bolts C to the felloes A. In one form, the cover is divided longitudinally into two pieces with flanges E, F, the flanges F engaging in grooves in the rigid rim G, and packing K of any suitable composition is placed between the air tube H and the tread. In another form, the cover is in one piece bearing on its surface the metal rim G, which may be kept in place by the inflation of the tyre, or may, for further security, be attached to a chrome-leather cover having hooks fastened to it by rivets to engage with the flanges B. A rubber or other tread may cover the metal rim G.
