Abstract

Pistons, balancing laterally.-In a piston A for internal-combustion engines made of aluminium or aluminium alloy, of the kind in which the head and skirt are formed integral connected by a truncated conical portion, the skirt B is slit longitudinally and provided at the junction between the connecting member and the skirt with an undivided internal ring E of iron, steel, or other metal having a coefficient of expansion substantially the same as that of the metal of the cylinder. The conical member is formed with bosses B<1> for the gudgeon and the skirt may be provided with a second ring F similar to the ring E.
